Father Carmichael Drake fights back the forces of evil with his sidekick, Sister Jordan Merrick. They ("God Squad") have lots of work solving the kidnappings of teenage girls, but eventually Drake realizes that he has to face the Queen of Hell, Necrotia.

Canadian independent movie makers Melantha Blackthorne and Jason Cavalier co-directed this never-boring roller-coaster of horror, sex, action and unspeakable perversities - but what more can you expect when part of the film is located into HELL? Even Pier Paolo Pasolini used somewhat similar imagery in his infamous last scene of Canterbury Tales (1971) , but this time Blackthorne and Cavalier use the help of computer graphics to create cool-looking effects along with refreshingly sick gore scenes, that Pasolini could have been only dreamed of. Of course, it is a pity that directors shock their viewers too long - splatter scenes start to irritate after a while and just only by reducing the length and quantity of 'em, Sinners and Saints could have been better. Luckily for me, I am not unfamiliar with extreme (and sick!) gore and splatter Sinners and Saints delivers. I just can suggest the directors to pay attention in their next film to other main elements, since they clearly have the skills for making fun, entertaining and good-looking actioners.

Although Sinners and Saints will probably appeal to black metal / gothic rocker boys & girls alone with its themes, costumes and soundtrack and gorehounds with its enormous amount of blood spurting, Blackthorne and especially Cavalier show their talent in fast-paced action scenes and skilful editing. On top of that, very imaginative camera-angles and clever use of colours are the cream of the crop.

Actors and actresses did a very good job in Sinners and Saints - in fact, the performances of co-directors Blackthorne and Cavalier never made me uncomfortable. Let's face it, over - or underacting is more than common in low-budget / amateur films. Among the quite satisfying acting, nice script, fun special effects and gory scenes there is a high amount of unashamed nudity involved.  Along with gorgeus Melantha Blackthorne, your jaws will drop after seeing  Sister Jordan in action - just imagine it: a topless kick-boxing nun! Sinners and Saints is filled with bad taste and it appeals to the lowest human senses. And that's nice!
